Washington State is loaded with abandoned houses, barns and one room schoolhouses. Most of these are in the arid regions of eastern Washington. We have discovered dozens of them during our road trips through the back country. Most are visible from public roads, but in a few cases we were granted access to buildings on private property by the owners, places that are known only to the locals. We also found a few abandoned trucks and rusted out farm implements.
